July 23rd, 1945. Disbanded
November 15, 1949. Reformed as 421 (Fighter) Squadron in Chatham, New Brunswick. Flew the Vampires. Moved to Odiham, England. Flew the RAF Vampires. December 1951, returned to Canada to St. Hubert, PQ. Re-equipped with Sabres. October 1952, moved back overseas to Grostenquin, France with 2 Fighter Wing.
August 1st, 1963. Disbanded
December 2nd, 1963. Reformed as 421 Strike/Attack Squadron with CF-104 Starfighters. Moved back to Baden-Soellingen.
January 1st, 1972. Redesignated 421 Tactical Fighter Squadron. Called the Red Indians Squadron. Stood down in July 1986. Reactivated on July 22nd, 1086 and re-equipped with CF-18 Hornets.
